Grade 316L · Hot Rolled · ASTM A276 / A484
The 316L stainless steel hot rolled flat bar is an ultra-low carbon variant of 316, with a maximum carbon content of 0.03%. This reduced carbon level eliminates the risk of intergranular corrosion (sensitization) after welding, even without post-weld annealing, making it the preferred choice for heavy fabrication.
Retaining the full molybdenum-enhanced corrosion resistance of 316, the 316L grade is ideal for welded structures in marine, chemical, and pharmaceutical environments where long-term structural integrity is critical.
